The Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 is one of the anticipated products to be announced at the summer Galaxy Unpacked. While the event is not expected for two more months, the rumor mill has already delivered several leaks that seem to reveal the true wireless earbuds’ new design and features.
Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 design
Prolific leaker Evan Blass shared several GIF images on Twitter with the simple caption “Galaxy Buds2.” Samsung fans can easily notice it has a simpler design compared to its predecessor. The form factor also looks a tad smaller and has a glossy finishing all over.

The Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 is also launching with a redesigned case, per the leaks. The first Galaxy Buds shipped with a pill-shaped case, but the upcoming wireless earbuds are expected to come with a square-shaped case similar to Galaxy Buds Live.

The leak from Blass also corresponds with earlier reports that the device will be available in different colors, including white, purple, and green. 91Mobiles reported that the earbuds would also launch with a black variant. However, the leaked images suggest the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 case will come in two-tone colors. Its standard external color would be white, while its internal color will match the earbuds.
Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 features
Another popular leaker, UniverseIce, also reported recently that the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 will be upgraded with the Active Noise Canceling feature. The tipster shared a screenshot showing that the upcoming device will have various noise controls. The ANC can be disabled, and the earbuds would also support the Ambient Sound setting.
Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 release date
Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 is expected to launch at the summer Galaxy Unpacked presentation, along with Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3, and the Galaxy Watch 4 series. Like the design and features of the wireless earbuds, the event’s date has also leaked.
Multiple sources have now claimed that the showcase will take place on Aug. 11. With that, Samsung could announce the event as early as Aug. 3, while the Galaxy Buds 2 will likely be available sometime in August.
