FORT LAUDERDALE, FL, Jan. 05, 2018 -- SanSal Wellness Holdings, Inc. (“SanSal Wellness” or the “Company”) (OTC PINK: SSWH), a vertically-integrated agribusiness focused on producing full spectrum natural phytocannabinoid-rich industrial hemp extracts, today re-affirmed that its products are not impacted by recent potential changes in federal law enforcement towards marijuana businesses, announced this week by the U.S. Attorney General.
“Following new guidance issued yesterday by United States Attorney General Jeff Sessions which potentially affects the enforcement of federal law against medical and recreational marijuana businesses, we feel it is essential to re-affirm that SanSal’s full spectrum industrial hemp extracts are not impacted by these changes to federal policy,” stated Alexander M. Salgado, CEO and co-founder of SanSal Wellness. “We anticipate that our world-class products will continue to enjoy a significant competitive advantage in the hemp supplement marketplace, allowing us to continue to produce, manufacture and distribute our products, which contain phytocannabinoid-rich industrial hemp extracts, to customers and wholesalers.”
Yesterday, Mr. Sessions rescinded previous advisory guidance issued in the Obama era, which served to direct U.S. attorneys nationwide to refrain from prosecuting marijuana businesses acting in compliance with state law; Mr. Sessions now directs those U.S. attorneys to exercise their own prosecutorial discretion in such matters. Importantly, all of the guidance focused on marijuana enforcement policy, and none contemplated industrial hemp, as industrial hemp is treated as distinct from “marihuana.”
SanSal Wellness currently operates a 140-acre industrial hemp farm and production facilities in Pueblo, Colorado, and is registered with the Colorado Department of Agriculture to grow industrial hemp.
