BRUSSELS, Belgium and REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Jan. 04, 2018 -- Selligent, the world’s leading provider of relationship marketing SaaS solutions based on consumer insights, today announced that it has been awarded ISO 27018 certification in the US. Introduced by the International Standards Organization (ISO), the ISO 27018 standard stipulates strict controls for protecting personably identifiable information (PII) in the cloud and is closely aligned with the rigorous standards set by European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This latest certification serves to further underline Selligent’s commitment to privacy and data protection and provides clients that operate in both Europe and the US with the confidence that they have a partner that globally adheres to high international standards.
The protection of private information is a high priority and many national and international bodies, including the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), the US government and the European Union, are all taking steps to address this issue. As such, Selligent’s US ISO 27018 certification and ISO 27001 certification, its existing European ISO 27018, and global ISO 27001 certification reflect the company’s on-going commitment to privacy and data security. Selligent also adheres to a privacy shield certification in the US, in compliance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission.
“Selligent is at the forefront of cloud-based data compliance that meets rigorous GDPR standards in both the US and Europe,” said John Hernandez, CEO of Selligent. “As a solutions provider to global brands, we take data protection very seriously, and are proud to expand compliance beyond regional requirements for a seamless, secure client offering.”
Awarded by Institut fur Auditierung und Zertifizierung GmbH, the ISO 27018 certificate verifies that Selligent has introduced the technical and organizational measures for protection of personally identifiable information in public clouds across the EU and US. Selligent is certified for having a secure operation for Selligent software and service solutions to consumers, as well as Selligent internal networks and software research and development processes. It has been proofed by a certification audit that the requirements of the standard of ISO/IEC 27018:2014 are fulfilled in connection with the certification of the Security Management System to ISO/IEC 27001:2013.
