Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry is set to sign a lifetime contract with sportswear brand Under Armour that could be worth over US$1 billion.
Curry and Under Armour teamed for the first time in 2013, and his current reputed US$20 million per year contract with the Baltimore-based company is scheduled to expire in 2024.
In 2020, the four-time NBA champion and Under Armour launched Curry Brand, a dedicated apparel division designed to draw younger consumers.
Only legends Michael Jordan and Lebron James have received lifetime contracts in the NBA; James inked a lifetime contract with Nike in 2015 that is estimated to be worth more than US$1 billion.
Soccer legends Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have lifetime deals with Nike and Adidas, respectively. While Messi's contract, inked in 2017, is unknown, Ronaldo's Nike pact, signed in 2016, is reputedly worth US$1 billion.
