Despite how she may have acted in the previous episode of the anime where she slapped Eugeo with her sword and then sent them to prison, Alice could be helping the pair escape. This could be why the two will somehow manage to elude the knight sent after them in “Sword Art Online” Season 3 Episode 12. It would seem that there is actually another one who will attempt to recapture them, as well, but will also fail.
The title for the upcoming “Sword Art Online” Season 3 Episode 12 is “The Sage of the Library,” which could be referring to a figure who the pair will encounter after losing their pursuers. Presumably, this so-called sage will then play a role in actually helping them reach Alice and achieve their goals. However, before they can actually do so, they would need to escape the people sent after them.
At the end of the previous episode, Eugeo and Kirito are met by the Integrity Knight who is an apprentice of Alice and is named Eldrie Synthesis. Weird name aside, someone who a professional soldier trained should have been more than a match for two teens with no weapons except for improvised chains. However, they still manage to get away from him in “Sword Art Online” Season 3 Episode 12.
It would seem that the same thing will happen when another Integrity Knight shows up to put the pair back in prison. The only explanation as to how they could be so incompetent is that Alice is secretly sending her worst people to recapture Kirito and Eugeo. Either that or it’s the show’s protagonist showing his plot armor, once more in “Sword Art Online” Season 3 Episode 12.
Viewers will find out either way when “Sword Art Online” Season 3 Episode 12 comes out. This would be on Dec. 23, for those who are wondering.
