It would seem that the current season of “Sword Art Online” simply refuses to let up on the surprises, especially in the last few episodes. This is why finding out that the current predicament of Kirito and Eugeo in “Sword Art Online” Season 3 Episode 13 is due to the Demon Tree is not such a surprise. Their fates were sealed when it was cut down.
With the episode being called “Ruler and Mediator,” “Sword Art Online” Season 3 Episode 13 is obviously going to be about Quinella who has basically re-written the rules of Underworld. She did so with the expressed intent of being the sole ruler of the virtual realm, even going so far as naming herself, Administrator.
This is not sitting well with Cardinal who saved Kirito and Eugeo from the Integrity Knights who are being used as enforcers of the Taboo Index. Everything that has happened so far was meant to preserve the rule of the Administrator. This was until the Demon Tree was felled down, as will be revealed in “Sword Art Online” Season 3 Episode 13.
It would seem that such a momentous event is how Cardinal knew that she would be able to count on their help to return the Underworld to the way it was and break Quinella’s rule. The act that freed Eugeo of his previous responsibilities and that has allowed him to try and find Alice is what set him against her. The origins of the Integrity Knights will be discussed in “Sword Art Online” Season 3 Episode 13, as well.
Basically, the Administrator has been taking people of talent and then implanting them with new memories while erasing the old ones. This was all in an effort to create a team of enforcers who would punish those who would break the rules in the Taboo Index. When “Sword Art Online” Season 3 Episode 13 airs on Jan. 6, viewers will be able to find out just how big of a threat the Administrator is.
