As a former prosecuting attorney, she leverages her trial experience and thorough understanding of the trial process to guide clients through complex litigation.
“As a trial attorney, Malika deepens our bench and enhances the litigation services we provide our clients across the country. We are excited to have Malika join our team and expand the depth of litigation services we provide clients in the Pacific Northwest.” Chair Michael Tanenbaum said. “She brings exceptional litigation experience, a unique perspective and diversity of experience that will serve the interests of our clients well.”
Johnson adds to the firm’s depth as a litigation boutique of more than 20 lawyers who provide a broad range of litigation services to a core group of industries including automotive, medical device, pharmaceutical, construction and mining, energy, transportation and chemicals and coatings. She joins partner Christopher Marks and associates Erin Fraser and Alice Serko, who opened the Seattle office on January 1st and represent Tanenbaum Keale clients in California, Oregon and Washington.
Prior to joining the firm, Johnson spent six years serving as deputy prosecuting attorney for the Pierce County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. She also practiced law as a partner at Williams Kastner for nearly four years.
“I have had the pleasure of working alongside Malika representing corporate clients in complex litigation for many years,” Marks said. “She has proven herself in the court room and is very-well respected. Malika is a savvy attorney with a bright future, and we are thrilled to have her join our team."
Johnson is a member of the Judicial Evaluation Committee for the Washington State Bar Association and admitted to practice law in New York and Washington. She earned her law degree cum laude from Albany Law School of Union University, as well as a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Albany.
