In terms of the overall production and Taylor Swift’s performance in her “Reputation” concert in Melbourne last Friday, her fans seemed highly satisfied. However, some of them aired their disappointment with something that the singer did not do for them after the show.
It has been days since the said concert took place at the Marvel Stadium. Now, several Aussie swifties felt bad that the “Look What You Made Me Do” singer did not thank her fans online. After major concert tours, artists like Swift usually share photos of the crowd with a caption dedicated to thanking them for their attendance. But, as The Daily Mail reported, many Australian fans noticed Swift has not done this yet since Friday.
The same report noted that up to 60,000 fans attended the Melbourne concert and some of them took to their social media pages to call out Swift for not dedicating an Instagram post for them. “Lowkey sad Taylor didn’t make an IG post for Melbourne,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
On the other hand, The Daily Mail report suggested that Taylor Swift might just be experiencing a weak internet connection. Some of her latest Instagram posts before the Melbourne concert showed she chose an off-the-grid home to stay in while she is in Australia. Swift is slated to perform next in Sydney at ANZ Stadium on Nov. 2.
As of this writing, Swift has not yet uploaded the highly anticipated “Thank you” post for her Melbourne fans on Instagram. However, the singer posted a video of her cat on Instagram in time for the National Cat Day on Monday.
Meanwhile, Swift’s ex-boyfriend, John Mayer, subtly confirmed he liked her latest album “Reputation” during his own show at iHeartRadio LIVE in California. During a Q&A segment, Mayer was asked about his inspiration in writing his latest single “New Light.” He then answered, “I was thinking about reputation.”
To prevent any confusion, Mayer said he was not referring to Taylor Swift’s album before adding, “But that’s still fine. That's a fine piece of work.” The two dated for a few months in late 2009 but reports of their breakup immediately followed in February 2010.
