Tesla's electric vehicles are some of the best examples of high-technology on wheels. However, even its advanced features have a downside. On Monday, a number of Tesla Model 3 owners took their disappointment online after being locked out of their cars due to issues with the mobile app for the vehicle.
Tesla Model 3 mobile app was down earlier this week
When the Tesla Model 3 was first released in the United States, the vehicle did not come with a key fob like with other Tesla cars. However, it was designed to be operated for the most part with an accompanying mobile app that car owners can use to get inside their electric vehicles.
While Tesla Model 3 is one of the most technologically advanced vehicles in the market due to its feature, it is still not invincible from having issues. That was what Tesla Model 3 owners experienced earlier this week.
@elonmusk @Tesla locked out. Phone app doesn’t respond. Signed out and signed back in but it says no cars in the account.

Several Tesla Model 3 owners tweeted Tesla’s official page and Elon Musk to report that they cannot use the vehicle’s mobile app. Some of them reported that the app was not able to reboot or load properly. There were also cases where their saved car profile was removed from the app; thus, they are unable to even unlock their Tesla Model 3.
Tesla Model 3 app issues: Is it fixed now?
In a statement to Gizmodo, Tesla confirmed that the mobile app’s services were momentarily down when customers shared their experience online. However, the issue was purportedly fixed shortly. One of the affected customers reported that the app was down three and a half hours on her part.

Meanwhile, Tesla also reminds its customers to make sure they always bring their Tesla Model 3 key fob with them so they could still use the full features of their cars in during these instances. Also, very common events like the smartphone battery dying can hinder customers from using the mobile app.
Tesla started selling the Tesla Model 3 key fob for $150 only in November 2018. However, since the entry-level electric car was announced, it has been obvious that the company wanted its mobile app to be at the center of all the vehicles’ features.
