“The Walking Dead” Season 10 is not even being made yet, but there are already rumblings with regards to what will happen with the series. Among the biggest causes of the tremors are the reports that Lauren Cohan is currently in talks with showrunner Angela Kang. It would appear that the two have been texting each other and fans might just get Maggie back.
This season of the show has seen major departures in the likes of Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Maggie (Lauren Cohan). A lot of fans felt betrayed and disappointed by this development, but they quickly perked up when it was revealed that the revolver-wielding sheriff will be sticking around. Granted, it will be in movie form, but it’s still better than nothing. What’s more, “The Walking Dead” Season 10 might also see Maggie coming back to the show.
It’s worth pointing out that nothing has been made official and there is no telling in what capacity Lauren Cohen will be appearing in “The Walking Dead” Season 10. What fans will be really interested in, however, is the fact that Kang would really like to bring Maggie back. The reason for this is simple math, in that the show’s ratings are not doing well.
This is only to be expected, of course, since Rick and Maggie were essentially central characters. They were among the few faces on the show that actually kept viewers coming back. Without them, a lot of viewers lost their reason to keep on watching. By potentially writing Maggie into “The Walking Dead” Season 10, the showrunner might drum up enough interest to actually save it.
Of course, this also spells trouble for the movie trilogy about the property that is in the works. If “The Walking Dead”' Season 10 doesn’t work out, there is no telling how it will affect the films.
