“The Winds of Winter” is long delayed and there is no question about it. It was supposed to be finished a long time ago but for some reasons, its author, George RR Martin, keeps delaying its publishing date. After many years of waiting, the author finally admitted that he is struggling to finish the sixth book in the “A Song of Ice and Fire” series.
The 70-year-old author also confessed that just like the fans, he is also frustrated that after seven long years, he is still unable to release “The Winds of Winter.” He said that he wished he completed the book a long time ago but he did not so he is also sort of angry at himself.
Despite not being able to publish “The Winds of Winter,” the author released his other books first like the “Fire & Blood” which made its way to the bookstores in November 2018. Although fans were disappointed, they still supported George RR Martin and bought the book. Sure enough, it topped the bestseller book list in many countries aside from the U.S.
With its success, George RR Martin promised fans that he will now get back to writing “The Winds of Winter” and make sure to finish it this time. While there are some who doubt that the author would be able to complete “TWOW,” Martin assured that he knows what everyone wants so he will focus on it now and release the book as soon as possible.
“I know you want WINDS, and I am going to give it to you,” Martin wrote on his blog. “But I am delighted that you stayed with me for this one as well.
Meanwhile, George RR Martin also made comments about the upcoming “Game of Thrones” finale. The series is ending in season 8 and it is expected to arrive in April. In connection with “GOT’s” last installment, the author surprisingly revealed that there are fans who correctly guessed how the drama will end.
According to The Telegraph, while at the Edinburgh International Book Festival, George RR Martin disclosed that certain fans were able to uncover the secret ending of “Game of Thrones” and they were able to do so after picking out the clues scattered throughout his “A Song of Ice and Fire” books and piecing them together.
“At least one or two readers had put together the extremely subtle and obscure clues that I'd planted in the books and came to the right solution,” he revealed. However, despite knowing that some already know how the drama will conclude, the author admitted that he cannot change anything anymore because that will only be a disaster.
