US Election Series: Free falling Obama care provides ammunition to Republicans

President Barrack Obama’s signature policy, Affordable Health Care Act, or popularly known as the Obamacare is in a free fall or complete collapse. Republican nominee Donald Trump has vowed to replace the policy, what he calls a disaster. But it looks like that the policy is shattering itself apart already as the premiums have started skyrocketing.

On Monday, the Obama administration announced that the premiums in Obama care would rise by 25 percent on an average nationwide. The premium for the silver plan would rise by 40 percent in North Carolina, 53 percent in Pennsylvania and 116 percent in Arizona. Throughout 2016 Presidential race, this affordable healthcare has been one of the major issues and its tumble has given the Republicans to take on their Democratic counterpart as every democrat including Hillary Clinton voted or voiced support for the plan. In fact, in the Presidential debates, Mrs. Clinton said that she wants to keep the Obama care and will make the necessary tweaks to improve it.

With just 13 days to go to the election, the republicans and Mr. Trump will try to gain as much as possible from that.
