With all the parties and never-ending eating and drinking, everyone is bound to gain an extra pound or two after the Holidays. To help melt that excess weight away, here’s a roundup of diets that have worked for a number of celebrities such as Kim Kardashian, Kate Middleton, Jennifer Lopez, and Penelope Cruz.
Atkins
The Atkins diet is probably one of the earliest low-carb diets that became popular. As with all low-carb diets, simple carbs or food items with a high glycemic index (sugar easily absorbed into the bloodstream) must be avoided at all costs. Complex carbs, on the other hand, are allowed in moderation while protein sources such as meat, eggs, and cheese as well as high-fiber vegetables are highly welcomed.
It was the Atkins diet that allowed Kim Kardashian to get rid of her post-baby weight fast, according to Harpers Bazaar. The reality star reportedly lost 25 kilos in just 11 months and came out with a svelte figure in time for her wedding. If Kim can do it, anyone who has gained a few pounds during the Holidays should be able to do it as well.
Mediterranean diet
This diet is one of the healthiest weight loss options out there. Inspired by the local cuisine in the Mediterranean, it incorporates whole grains, vegetables, healthy fats and plenty of fruits into its dishes.
Celebrity supporters who’ve tried this diet include Rachael Ray, Penelope Cruz, and John Goodman, and Brooke Burke. Goodman reportedly lost 100 pounds while on this diet, according to CheatSheet.
Dukan Diet
Fans have always wondered how Prince William’s wife Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, managed to stay fit and slim all these years. Now it might have something to do with the Dukan diet, Kate Middleton’s go-to diet to slim down before royal weddings. Jennifer Lopez and Gisele Bundchen are fans of this diet as well.
Designed by French dietitian and nutritionist Pierre Dukan, this Diet is a protein-based nutritional approach split into three segments. The first phase, which might last between 2 to 7 days, is a time of protein-rich eating. In the second phase, the menu consists of protein-rich days alternating with vegetable-rich days while the third or consolidation phase reintroduces other food groups such as cheese, bread, and fruit back to the menu.
