Federal-Mogul Powertrain was selected as the winning company for Delivery Excellence and was also a leading contender in the Fuel Efficiency and Innovation Excellence category. Success in the Awards process, which recognises suppliers that provide the best possible products and services to the Volvo Group, further validates Federal-Mogul’s commitment to delivering significant advances in powertrain technology for its engine manufacturer partners. The award for Delivery Excellence came in relation to the supply of engine bearings used in most of Volvo’s truck engines produced at Federal-Mogul Powertrain’s plant in Gdansk, Poland. In addition to meeting the demands of all the Volvo Group engine production sites, Federal-Mogul was cited for its service-minded flexibility and success in overcoming logistics challenges with a collaborative mindset, in order to maintain robust supply of components.
“The Volvo Group Delivery Excellence award celebrates Federal-Mogul’s commitment to meet and exceed its customers’ expectations, in all phases of the relationship – from product innovation to just-in-time delivery and service,” said Federal-Mogul Co-CEO and CEO of Federal-Mogul Powertrain, Rainer Jueckstock, speaking at the Awards presentation ceremony held in Gothenburg, Sweden, last night. “We are honoured by this endorsement from the Volvo Group and the nomination in two categories demonstrates our deep understanding of the importance of providing the highest level of engine technologies and customer service.”
The nomination in the Fuel Efficiency and Innovation Excellence category was gained by Federal-Mogul Powertrain product groups Pistons as well Rings & Liners.
“Nomination for Fuel Efficiency and Innovation Excellence in the Volvo Group Purchasing Supplier Awards is significant recognition for us,” concludes Jueckstock. “Federal-Mogul Powertrain is committed to developing and commercialising new technologies that enable advances in fuel efficiency and emissions performance and the acknowledgement of this by the Awards’ judging panel is very welcome.”
