“Westworld” season 3 was confirmed in May however it seems that production has not started yet. What’s more, the original filming site for the drama was destroyed by the most recent forest fire in California thus the production team needs to find a new place for the shoot.
Filming
In June, Ed Harris who plays The Man In Black in the series also affirmed that “Westworld” season 3’s filming will take a while to begin. In his phone interview with Huffington Post, he said, “We’re not supposed to start shooting Season 3 until next June, so I don’t even know if I’m in it or not.”
The 68-year-old actor also shared that he has no idea about what will happen in the third season and admitted that he doesn’t even know yet if he will still be included in the cast line-up or not.
Plot
Although the plot for “Westworld” season 3 is still a mystery, showrunners Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan hinted that the story will be a lot different from the previous seasons. To explain the difference that can be expected in the upcoming episodes, speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Nolan described the new hosts by saying, “They're existential. They span eons. And that's a fascinating level of story to engage in. They have a different outlook and believe a different version of mortality.”
Cast
Evan Rachel Wood Dolores (Dolores Abernathy) and Thandie Newton (Maeve Millay), Anthony Hopkins (Dr. Robert Ford) and Ed Harris are the main actors so they are likely to return for “Westworld” season 3. There have been talks that Antonio Banderas is also being considered to join the drama but this was not confirmed. In case he will be added, he could be the next villain in the story.
Fans will see a new face in “Westworld” season 3 as “Breaking Bad” actor Aaron Paul has been confirmed to be in the show as one of the series’ regulars. However, the details of his character are being kept a secret for now.
Episodes and Air Date
“Westworld” season 3 will probably have 10 episodes since the last two seasons also aired with this same count. As for the premiere, the third installment is predicted to arrive in the last quarter of 2019 or early 2020.
