SANTA CLARA, Calif., Feb. 15, 2016 -- Applied Micro Circuits Corporation (Nasdaq:AMCC), a global leader in computing and connectivity solutions, today announced that XS Inc., a leading supplier of customized solutions for enterprise and hyperscale data center customers, has selected AppliedMicro’s X-Gene® 2 server CPU for its next-generation V-Raptor servers.
The jointly engineered V-Raptor II series, featuring X-Gene’s 64-bit ARMv8-A microarchitecture, couples the performance and power-efficiency of X-Gene 2, and is designed for compute intensive workloads.

XS has designed and will market a new OCP server platform based on the X-Gene 2 Server-on-a-Chip® solution. The 1U quad socket solution delivers leading-edge performance and power-efficiency suitable for cost-effective scale-out high-performance application server deployments.
