A survey by the YWCA Seoul revealed that 75.8 percent of South Korean adults drink over one cup of coffee per day.
The survey of 500 adults between 20 and 59 years of age also revealed that they spent an average of 103,978 won (US$74.14) on coffee each month.
The coffee expenditures consist of 40.5 percent at coffee shops, 36.4 percent on coffee capsules and drip coffee bags, and 25.5 percent on food delivery apps.
Roughly 75 percent of respondents used a capsule machine at home, with the majority drinking more coffee after purchasing a coffee machine for home use.
Another 44 percent of the respondents said outdoor spending on coffee had decreased after purchasing a coffee machine.
