ABB India Limited fell 5.94% on Wednesday, Oct. 21, as futures open interest climbed 12.25%, placing it among four companies listed on India's National Stock Exchange (NSE) with double-digit increases in outstanding positions.

StockEdge's F&O scan included stocks whose futures open interest rose more than 10%. PatternsRadar's all-expiry series put ABB's total at about 2.25 million share-equivalent units. Sona BLW Precision Forgings Limited had the largest total, about 21.5 million share-equivalent units, with open interest up 17.54%. Anand Rathi Wealth Limited's open interest gained 16.58% to about 7.49 million share-equivalent units, and 360 ONE WAM Limited's rose 11.77% to about 6.03 million share-equivalent units.

Prices moved lower for three of the four stocks. Sona BLW fell 3.54% to ₹765.90, and 360 ONE declined 1.61% to ₹1,038. Anand Rathi gained 1.67% to ₹2,200; ABB closed at ₹6,559.50. All four met the scan's open-interest threshold at Wednesday's close.

PatternsRadar's series totals share-equivalent futures positions that remain open across expiries. Under StockEdge’s published definition, the three stocks that fell fit the “New Short” pattern because their open interest rose as prices dropped. Anand Rathi fit the “New Long” pattern, with both open interest and price higher. These labels describe the session's movements; open interest alone does not establish a future price direction.

TBTflow's Oct. 21 scanner showed different rates. It reported Sona BLW open interest up 29.50%, compared with 17.54% in the all-expiry series. TBTflow combines near- and next-month futures and adjusts for the session's median open-interest change, so its figures are not directly comparable.

EconoTimes previously reported a separate 21% increase in Anand Rathi Wealth futures open interest on Oct. 19, when the stock's near-month future gained 0.66%.
