In February, AFFCU hosted 14 free financial classes to military personnel and their family members, with over 770 individuals attending sessions. A one-year share certificate with a special rate of 3.00% APY was offered to active duty personnel for two weeks during the campaign to help promote automatic savings.
In addition, a special social media campaign was targeted at individuals during the month, with participation in several tweet chats and the orchestration of a special #MilitarySaves focused credit chat with Experian, one of the three major credit reporting bureaus, discussing financial topics that affect military personnel.
“We’re pleased to recognize Air Force Credit Union’s tremendous promotional and outreach efforts during Military Saves Week 2017,” said Allie Vered, America Saves Director. “Thanks to partners like AFFCU, each year we’re able get more than 35,000 military service members to commit to saving money.”
This was the second consecutive year AFFCU was recognized for the Designation of Savings Excellence award.
“Our staff understands the privilege we have to be able to provide financial services and support to our military and their families. They take great pride in championing their financial goals and educating them about fiscal responsibility,” Bob Glenn, President/CEO of AFFCU stated. “We are honored to be recognized and will continue to lend our support to our military and their families whenever and wherever it may be needed.”
