Adani Green Energy reported 78.9% solar grid availability for the six months ended Sept. 30, reflecting a transmission bottleneck even as its renewable fleet expanded and its solar plants were 99.3% available.

Operational renewable capacity reached 20,763 megawatts on Sept. 30, up 24% from a year earlier, with 4,083 megawatts added in H1 FY27, the company said. Wind grid availability was 93.7%, and hybrid projects recorded 94.5%.

Adani Green attributed the solar reading to delays in securing grid access and limits on transmitting power during periods of peak daytime generation. Its calculation also counts restrictions imposed by grid operators on the network beyond the national-grid substation serving each plant. The Oct. 10 operational update reports the H1 figure only; it gives no separate rate for July through September.

Mint reported that Adani Green reduced output to support grid balancing. Harshraj Aggarwal, Yes Securities' executive vice president for institutional equity research, told Mint that grid limits constrained solar generation during peak daytime periods. The company did not quantify the electricity or revenue affected.

Adani Green added 3,081 megawatt-hours of installed battery storage at Khavda during Q2, bringing its total installed capacity there to 6,632 MWh by Sept. 30. The company said storage adds flexibility to manage renewable output and can help address curtailment.

Energy sales rose 32% year over year to 25,747 million units in H1 FY27 and 33% to 12,090 million units in Q2, according to the company. In the quarter ended Sept. 30, power-supply revenue climbed 45% to ₹4,019 crore, while power-supply EBITDA increased 51% to ₹3,835 crore. The EBITDA margin was 92.0%, up from 90.5% a year earlier.

The grid-access issue follows transmission constraints discussed in EconoTimes' earlier coverage of Adani Green's electricity sales and capacity growth. The company's investor calendar tentatively lists Jan. 20, 2027, for a Q3 FY27 board meeting and says the date may change.
