An AfD spokesperson told Bild that parts of a few mailboxes may have been copied during a September 2026 attack on the party’s hosting provider. Bild reported that a website it viewed listed 421,179 purported emails, a claimed total rather than a verified count of material taken in the incident.

The spokesperson said most of the affected mailboxes had gone unused for years. The party’s current federal association email accounts were not affected, and the AfD detected and stopped the attack quickly, the spokesperson told Bild.

The spokesperson also said all affected users had been informed and that the party was examining the online publication. Bild reported that the site displayed AI summaries of some entries and that it had only a limited look at the material. The outlet could not establish whether the items were authentic or tied to the September attack. The reported total does not establish how many messages, if any, were copied.
