WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., Oct. 19, 2016 -- Alliance BioEnergy Plus, Inc. (OTCQB:ALLM) (the “Company”) is pleased to announce that the Airports Council International – North America (“ACI-NA”) has given its written support of the CTS process for the production of aviation biofuels and Alliance’s application to the Department of Energy for a bio-refinery demonstration plant, producing jet fuel from agriculture and yard waste.
As one of the founding organizations of the Commercial Aviation Alternative Fuels Initiative (CAAFI), a public-private partnership to promote the development of the aviation biofuels industry, ACI-NA is extremely supportive of efforts to advance the commercialization of aviation biofuels.
The airline industry is taking a proactive approach to its impact on climate change, and ACI has signed on to a collective industry goal of carbon-neutral growth from 2020. In order to meet this goal, biofuels must be a part of the solution. The volume of production will need to scale up quickly in order to start making meaningful contributions towards stabilizing our collective carbon footprint in the coming years. In addition, the incentives for developing a sustainable, domestic fuel supply that is not subject to the same price volatility as petroleum-based fuels are significant. Katherine Preston, Senior Director of Environmental Affairs said, “The work being done by Alliance BioEnergy and Ek Laboratories is critical towards meeting these goals.” Katherine Preston went on to say, “This promising technology would offer a sustainable pathway for the production of aviation biofuels from multiple, different feedstock.”
