The NewsFeed segment, published Nov. 4, covered the reports as Michigan residents cast ballots in the Senate race. The segment said the mayor asked people in polling lines to remain there. Al Jazeera’s Mikail Malik reported for the segment.
Michigan State University measured a 2.5-point lead, while a WDIV/Detroit News survey put his margin at 6.3 points.
About a dozen organizations joined the effort, and a DeKalb County volunteer said some eligible voters feared being targeted.
