Al Jazeera reported that severe weather prompted officials in several U.S. states to move polling sites and arrange other voting options for residents who were displaced or stranded on Tuesday.

In a Nov. 3 video, Al Jazeera said flash flooding, intense rain and tornadoes affected Election Day voting in several states.

EconoTimes had previously covered a forecast warning of possible voting disruptions. AccuWeather projected severe storms from the Gulf Coast to the Midwest for Tuesday, Nov. 3, with hail, tornadoes, flash flooding and winds up to 75 mph. That coverage also noted that Texas officials had urged voters to check polling locations before Election Day.

The Independent flagged the possibility of lower participation among infrequent voters and short-notice polling-site changes.
