Alliant Energy lifted its capital-expenditure forecast for 2027-30 by 19% to $15.9 billion, citing contracted data-center demand and expected growth in electricity use that will require more energy resources.

The plan covers 2027 through 2030. Alliant's utility subsidiaries, Interstate Power and Light Company and Wisconsin Power and Light Company, have contracts for 3.4 gigawatts of data-center demand. The company expects peak demand to increase about 60% by 2031.

Diluted earnings per share under generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) were $1.52 for the third quarter ended Sept. 30, compared with $1.09 in the same quarter last year. For the first nine months of 2026, GAAP EPS totaled $3.04, up from $2.59 in the comparable period.

The company narrowed its 2026 ongoing EPS guidance to $3.41 to $3.46 per share, from a previous range of $3.36 to $3.46. Its 2027 ongoing EPS outlook is $3.63 to $3.73 per share.

Alliant set a 2027 annual common stock dividend target of $2.25 per share, compared with its current $2.14 target. Each quarterly dividend for 2027 remains subject to a declaration by the board of directors. The company expects the first-quarter dividend to be declared in January 2027.

In Iowa, Alliant plans to extend Interstate Power and Light Company's retail electric base rate stability plan through 2030. Alliant said the plan would make Iowa retail electric rates more predictable through 2030.

Alliant announced the forecast in its Oct. 29 earnings release, included as Exhibit 99.1 to a Form 8-K filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Oct. 30. The SEC filing index lists Alliant Energy Corp., Interstate Power & Light Co. and Wisconsin Power & Light Co. as filers. It identifies operating results and financial condition, along with financial statements and exhibits, as disclosure items.

The company scheduled a public call to discuss the results for Friday, Oct. 30, at 9 a.m. Central Time (14:00 UTC).
