Alphabet’s shares fell nearly 10% after its third-quarter results, while rising open interest in GOOGL-linked contracts showed more outstanding activity without indicating whether traders expected a rise or decline.
The marketwide total for GOOGL contracts reached about $637 million, up 64.32% over 24 hours. Bitget’s open-interest reading was $52.69 million after gaining more than 69% during the same interval.
Open interest totals the value of contracts still outstanding, including both long and short sides. The combined figure cannot show whether traders anticipated a rise or fall, and the timing does not establish that Alphabet’s earnings release caused the increase.
Hyperliquid quoted its GOOGL contract at $292.82 on Oct. 29. An account-level view put long exposure across 19 accounts at about $20.56 million and recorded an open-interest gain of roughly $43.1 million. The 15 accounts’ new long entries were priced above $292.82.
The figures cover separate views of contract activity: Bitget’s venue-level total, the broader market reading and Hyperliquid’s account snapshot. An earlier EconoTimes comparison of Bitget’s Tesla (TSLA) contracts also found a higher open-interest reading than the prior day.
