BlockchainCenter’s Altcoin Season Index stood at 41 on Oct. 30, leaving the market gauge in neutral territory as its count since the last qualifying season reached 399 days.
The 41-point reading is 34 points below the index’s altcoin-season marker, set at 75. The index compares 50 eligible coins with Bitcoin (BTC) over the prior 90 days; a score of 75 or more meets the season threshold. Readings from 26 through 74 are neutral, while readings of 25 or lower count as Bitcoin-season conditions.
The index’s historical table lists 67 days as the average interval between altcoin seasons. At 399 days, the current gap is nearly six times that average. The table records a 486-day maximum, leaving the Oct. 30 count 87 days below the high.
BlockchainCenter’s historical tally also shows an average altcoin-season span of 17 days. It lists 416 days in altcoin season and 956 in Bitcoin season; the table does not give a total for neutral days. Its calendar display covers 2017 through 2026. Those totals describe categories in the historical record and are separate from the average interval between seasons.
The 67-day average describes past observations; it does not set a schedule for the next altcoin season. The index measures how broadly assets in its basket outperformed BTC, rather than calculating the group’s dollar return. The index summarizes relative performance over the 90-day window; it does not show the basket’s dollar return or forecast an individual token’s performance. The result depends on the eligible coins in the basket, so it describes a selected group rather than each project. EconoTimes previously explained the index’s 75-point threshold.
