NEW YORK, Nov. 28, 2016 -- Sean O’Neil, Vice President of Enterprise Architecture at Optum IT and Owner of Rapid eCorp International LLC, has been selected to join the Industry Board at the American Health Council. He will be sharing his knowledge and expertise in the areas of Information Technology, Application Performance, and Healthcare.

Mr. O’Neil has been active in the healthcare industry for the last 20 years. Inspired by his grandfather who ran USAID agriculture projects in many countries around the world, Mr. O’Neil set out to design systems to help the world’s most vulnerable populations through a better healthcare system. He received his BA in Anthropology from the University of Minnesota in 1995.
Optum, the Health Services platform, focuses on helping improve the healthcare system itself, including population health management and care delivery, and improving the clinical and operating elements of the system.
The Rapid eCorp solution is a complete offering that handles all aspects of pharmacy management: inventory, insurance billing, point of sale, hardware, software, staffing, vendor management, and accounting. Their customer loyalty program empowers pharmacists to tap into the remittance stream of the diaspora while ensuring that the funds go directly to help the loved one with their medical needs.
Among his many accomplishments, Mr. O’Neil is most proud of his work in fixing the website Healthcare.Gov, where he put to use his expertise in Application Performance Management, and in designing a very low-cost pharmacy management system which he built and deployed to the Ivory Coast. His long-term goals include building a foundation to ensure a stable funding source for the Rapid eCorp Pharmacy Management System.
Mr. O’Neil attributes his success to the passion he has for the work he does and a desire to make a difference in healthcare. His day-to-day responsibilities include creating Pharmacy Management platforms and mobile/SMS banking systems.
He is a member of the Performance Engineering Roundtable and involved with the Antique Motorcycle Club of America.
In his free time, Mr. O’Neil enjoys dancing Argentine Tango.
