Anthropic spent $3.168 billion on sales, marketing and partnerships in the first half of 2026, while The Economic Times cited an Anand Rathi report identifying potential AI integration work for Indian IT firms.
The Economic Times said Anand Rathi sees systems integrators helping businesses choose AI tools and adapt them for existing operations. The analysis also warned that AI-related price declines and tighter client budgets for discretionary technology spending could limit the opportunity.
Anthropic reported $16.286 billion in revenue for the six months ended June 30, up 1,300% from the same period a year earlier. Consumption-based revenue was $13.064 billion, about $13.1 billion, or 80% of the total. As of Sept. 30, 2026, the company had more than 11,900 customers generating at least $100,000 in trailing-12-month revenue.
A filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission put Anthropic’s future payments for leases that had not started by June 30 at an estimated $321.4 billion, before discounting. Most of the leases relate to computing and infrastructure capacity. Some arrangements carried contractual conditions, and the company said the leases were expected to begin between 2026 and 2028.
That June estimate is a separate snapshot from other commitments disclosed in the filing. Anthropic also reported about $245 billion in future minimum payments under lease and commercial agreements entered into or amended after June 30, plus about $21 billion in minimum noncancelable payments under short-term agreements.
The company said its sales, marketing and partnerships expenses rose by $3.048 billion year over year in the first half, with most of the increase attributed to a $2.7 billion rise in channel-partner fees. The filing names Accenture, Deloitte, KPMG and PwC among its systems integrators, but does not establish that Indian firms will receive the work Anand Rathi anticipates.
Anthropic cautioned that its recent pace of revenue growth may not continue at a similar rate.
