Anchorpoint Financial Limited said Friday, Oct. 30, it is exploring native issuance and redemption of HKD At Par (HKDAP) on Solana, a proposed expansion aimed at payments and trading in tokenized assets.
The company announced a collaboration with Solana Foundation to assess the expansion. Anchorpoint says a Solana connection could broaden access to HKDAP through the network’s wallets and applications. It has not set a date for deployment, and the announcement describes work under consideration rather than a live service.
Anchorpoint cited about $4.9 billion in tokenized real-world assets on Solana and more than 835,000 holders as context for the collaboration. Solana Foundation will also become a strategic partner in Anchorpoint’s Tokenised Money Adoption Programme, following PwC Hong Kong. Anchorpoint describes the initiative as supporting education, research and industry discussion about tokenized money.
The stablecoin’s beta is currently available only on Ethereum mainnet, according to Anchorpoint’s FAQ, and is limited to corporates and professional investors. EconoTimes reported after an Oct. 23 press conference that Anchorpoint had not set a retail date, in its earlier coverage of the company’s retail timeline. Anchorpoint says a wider release that could include retail users may begin as early as the end of 2026, depending on operational readiness.
The FAQ says users obtain and convert HKDAP through authorized distributors. Transfers to wallet addresses that have not been verified are rejected by the smart contract. HKDAP has a par value of HK$1, and Anchorpoint says reserves must cover at least 100% of the par value of tokens in circulation.
The Hong Kong Monetary Authority licensed Anchorpoint and HSBC to issue stablecoins on April 10, 2026. The regulator cited local and cross-border payments, as well as tokenized-asset trading, among potential uses for licensed Hong Kong dollar stablecoins. Anchorpoint’s broader release target is as early as the end of 2026; the company has given no separate timetable for Solana.
