A proposed securities class action against AppLovin covers purchases made from Feb. 12 through Aug. 5, 2026, inclusive, and investors have until Nov. 16 to seek the role of lead plaintiff.
Levi & Korsinsky said in an Oct. 28 investor alert that investors seeking the appointment must file a motion by that date. The deadline concerns leadership of the proposed case, not a deadline to seek payment.
The Sept. 16 filing in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California is Talbot v. AppLovin Corporation. Court records identify Stephen Talbot as the plaintiff; AppLovin, CEO Adam Foroughi and CFO Matthew Stumpf are named as defendants. The complaint proposes a class of investors who bought or acquired the company’s securities during the stated period.
The complaint alleges AppLovin overstated how consistently its AI advertising models improved and the dependability of a cycle in which stronger ad performance could encourage more advertiser spending and generate data to refine the models. It also alleges significant delays to a generative AI video tool planned for the AppLovin Ads platform. The claims have not been established in court.
AppLovin reported revenue of $1.923686 billion for the quarter ended June 30, up 53% from a year earlier. Its Securities and Exchange Commission filing said increased revenue per installation on AppLovin Ads drove most of the growth, partly offset by a 2% decline in installation volume. The complaint compares the revenue result with a $1.94 billion consensus estimate.
Yahoo Finance historical prices list AppLovin’s Aug. 5 closing price at $417.80. The complaint says the shares closed at $335.67 on Aug. 6, down $82.13, or 19.66%, and attributes the drop to the results and disclosures. That alleged connection has not been established in court, and the one-day share-price change does not calculate any individual investor’s losses.
EconoTimes has previously reported on the case’s lead-plaintiff deadline. Nov. 16 is the next specified procedural date for investors seeking appointment to lead the case.
