The Vision Pro debuted on retail shelves on February 2. It was met with electrifying acclaim and some censure regarding its $3,500 price tag as Apple entered a new product category: mixed reality.
After the Vision Pro's introduction several weeks ago, early adopters have been able to utilize the AR/VR headset for a period of time. Vision Pro-owning Reddit users have reported experiencing spontaneous splitting, as reported by MacRumors.
'Spontaneous Cracking' Allegations Leveled Against Vision Pro
The initial Reddit post regarding spontaneous cracks, which indicated that the Vision Pro had not been subjected to any impact resulting in the defect, appeared precisely three days after the product's release.
"For the last 3 days I have never used my Vision Pro outside of my bed, and whenever I am not using it, I always have the soft outer cover on and the unit has never been dropped or anything like that, and I just noticed the crack last night. I wonder what caused the crack, and whether it’s a manufacturing defect or not," Reddit user Wohinbistdu stated.
There have been a number of subsequent threads in which Vision Pro owners have raised comparable concerns. Notably, the cracks manifest exclusively along the nasal bridge, extending from the uppermost region of the headset (hairline) to its lowermost section. Additionally, the hairline fracture appears at the point where the Vision Pro has the most pronounced curved contour.
Engadget says the Apple Vision Pro device has a fissure in the center. On the basis of these reports, which represent a small subset of Vision Pro's clientele, it is challenging to determine whether this problem is prevalent.
Sound issues are another prevalent complaint encountered on Reddit and Apple's online Support Community, alongside sporadic cracking. "Bought my device about 3 days ago and sound gave out. For some reason, if it’s charging overnight the speaker band will stop working. Happened to a few people i’ve read online as well," Unlucky-Print-1548, a Redditor, said.
Vision Pro Owners Report Glare and Tracking Issues, Despite High Praise
Redditors, as per Mashable, have also been observed to frequently lament issues with glare, poor low-light performance, which makes it more difficult to monitor inputs, and eye tracking. Once more, it is challenging to determine whether or not these problems are widespread. Nonetheless, these are the most frequent grievances reported by Redditors who own Vision Pro.
Nevertheless, these rumors should not alter your opinion of the Apple Vision Pro. Indeed, this marks Apple's inaugural venture into mixed-reality hardware, thus anticipating initial-generation peculiarities. Numerous individuals regarded the Vision Pro as the preeminent head-mounted display available, as we noted in our compilation of reviews.
