San Jose, CA, March 29, 2017 -- Arduino, the world’s leading open source hardware and software platform, will celebrate its fourth annual Arduino Day, giving developers around the world a unique opportunity to come together, either online or in person. Developers and Makers of all ages can share projects and learn from others who are building with Arduino’s leading open source hardware and software.
Last year, Arduino and passionate Makers held more than 350 events. This year, there are more than 470 events scheduled in ~80 countries. For a full list, check out the Arduino Day website.
There will be three oficial Arduino team events – Torino, Italy; Malmo, Sweden; and San Jose, California – where Arduino team members will be present. Presentations will be live-streamed across Arduino’s social media channels allowing anyone to “tune in.” These events are being hosted by passionate, Arduino Makers, developers, and partners offering local community members a place to meet and learn from each other.
“Our community shares projects passionately around the world everyday through social media, Youtube, hackathons, and other venues,” said Federico Musto, Arduino AG CEO. “We’re grateful to this community, which has helped us build the boards and technology they need to make impressive and creative projects and products.”
“Since its origin, twelve years ago today, Arduino’s mission has been to make technology simple for everybody and to unleash people’s creativity. It’s humbling to see so many communities come together to celebrate this spirit,” said Massimo Banzi, co-founder of the Arduino project. “This energy fuels our commitment to make technology a tool of change for even more people globally.”
Arduino Day is a 24-hour-long worldwide event, where Arduino fans can get together, share experiences, and learn more through demonstrations and hands-on learning. Participation is open to anyone, from young Makers and students to professional engineers and designers.
