Ares Capital Corporation will release third-quarter results before trading begins Tuesday, Oct. 27, after its Core EPS fell short of its declared dividend in each of the first two quarters of 2026.

Ares reported Core EPS of $0.47 per share in both quarters and declared a $0.48-per-share dividend for each. The one-cent difference held across the two periods, giving investors a recent comparison to follow when the company reports its next quarter.

Core EPS is a non-GAAP measure. Ares defines it as the net increase or decrease in stockholders’ equity from operations divided by basic weighted-average shares. The calculation excludes realized and unrealized gains and losses, related capital gains incentive fees and income taxes. Ares says the measure can help assess financial performance but should not replace results calculated under generally accepted accounting principles, or GAAP.

Credit quality is also in focus. Loans on non-accrual status accounted for 2.4% of total investments at amortized cost on June 30, 2026. They represented 2.1% on March 31 and 1.8% on Dec. 31, 2025, an increase over the first half of the year.

Ares’ second-quarter filing said the company had delivered 17 years of stable or increasing regular quarterly dividends. That record describes the company’s regular dividend history; the first- and second-quarter Core EPS figures show how the earnings measure compared with the amount declared in those specific quarters.

Investors can expect the report before trading begins on Oct. 27. Ares will discuss the results at noon ET (4 p.m. UTC).
