Asian markets in red ahead of FOMC rate decision, gold hovers around fresh 3-week high at $1,291 mark

All the major Asian indices were trading in a lower note ahead of the main event of the day. Later today U.S. will release interest rate decision and FOMC statements. Gold and silver were trading around fresh 4-week high. Gold was trading around $1,290 amrk and silver was trading around $18.40 marks.

South Korea’s Kospi was trading 1.39 percent lower at 1,979.36 points.

Tokyo's Nikkei was trading 1.79 percent lower at 17,131.50 points.

Shanghai composite index to open down 0.2 pct at 3,115.73 points and China's CSI300 index to open down 0.3 pct at 3,350.71 points.

Hong Kong's Hang Seng was trading 1.42 percent lower at 22,819.26 points.

Australia's S&P/ASX 200 was trading 1.41 percent lower at 5,216.10 points.
