WOODLAND PARK, N.J., Jan. 12, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- For the third consecutive year, Berkeley College has been ranked among the Best Colleges for Online Bachelor's Degree Programs by U.S. News & World Report. Berkeley College was ranked among the top 100 schools nationwide, at No. 92 in online education. Berkeley College is the only college in New Jersey, and one of eight colleges based in New York, to make the top 100 portion of the list.
"By publicizing best practices in distance learning, U.S. News & World Report allows employers to greater appreciate the innovative opportunities offered by online degree programs," said Michael J. Today, Berkeley College students, faculty and staff will gather at the Berkeley College Online® offices in Clifton, NJ, to celebrate the accomplishment.
Colleges are ranked on factors such as student engagement; faculty credentials and training; student services and technology; and peer reputation.
Berkeley College began offering online courses in 1998 and online degrees in 2003. In the 2015 Fall Quarter, more than 2,900 students were enrolled in at least one online course. More than 190 undergraduate and graduate courses were offered. To date nearly 2,500 students have graduated with online degrees. The average age of a student enrolled in an undergraduate degree program at Berkeley College Online is 30 years
In addition to being ranked in the Best Online Bachelor's Degree Program category, the College also made the 2014 and 2015 U.S. News & World Report lists for Best Online Programs for Veterans. Eight percent of those enrolled are military or veterans students. Sixteen percent of all Berkeley College students are earning their degrees fully online.
