The Bank of Japan’s release index dates its November 2026 projection for changes in financial institutions’ central bank balances to Nov. 5, adding another entry to the BOJ’s monthly series.
The linked spreadsheet is headed “Sources of Changes in Current Account Balances (Projections for Nov.).” Despite the label, the release concerns balances on financial institutions’ books at the BOJ, while Japan’s balance-of-payments current account is a separate national measure.
BOJ background material says changes can arise from the bank’s operations as well as cash and Treasury-related flows connecting the central bank, financial institutions and the government.
In an Oct. 1 notice, the BOJ said floating-rate lending through pooled-collateral funds-supplying operations would be broken out as its own item starting with September 2026 data.
