BTS is ready to conquer the gaming world as well. This is likely to happen as the gaming company, Grampus, submitted a proposal to Big Hit Entertainment to allow it to use the images of the boy group.
The granting of IP rights for gaming
As per South Korea’s Fomos news outlet, BTS’ agency agreed, and it signed a contract granting a license to the gaming company. This deal was made so that Grampus will be free from intellectual property rights violation for featuring the band in the game that it is developing.
“We’re happy to be able to showcase the charming qualities of BTS, the greatest artist of our time, through our mobile simulation game that is in development,” head of Grampus, Kim Jee In, said in a statement.
It was said that Big Hit is also happy for the collaboration with Grampus since it is one of the leading game developers in the country. It is very successful in the field of simulation games and has a global market.
BTS’ agency is excited about the group’s mobile simulation game and looking forward to seeing the outcome. Fans can’t wait as well because they believe that the combination of the BTS brand and the gaming company’s advanced knowledge in its field will surely create an excellent product that gamers around the world could enjoy. Lastly, it was reported that BTS’ new game is expected to arrive in 2021.
Suga’s apology
Meanwhile, the controversy involving Suga has not fully died down yet. In the recent update, it was reported that the BTS member personally apologized for using Jim Jone’s speech in his “What Do You Think?” track that is included in his D-2 mixtape.
The inclusion of Jone’s voice in the song is controversial because he is the cult leader who spearheaded the massacre in Jonestown, South Africa a few decades ago. The New York Post mentioned that the sampling features Jone’s speech that reads: “Though you are dead, yet shall you live, and he that liveth and believeth shall never die.”
Big Hit stated that BTS Suga is really embarrassed and feels very responsible for issue on the sampling. He did not realize the problem until people pointed it out so he apologized through his agency.
