BVNK now lets eligible businesses outside the European Economic Area (EEA) mint and redeem OUSD directly, giving firms using its services access to dollar-linked tokens on four supported networks.
Customers can exchange dollar balances for OUSD and later redeem the tokens for dollars at a 1:1 rate. Through BVNK, they can hold OUSD and send or receive it on Ethereum, Solana, Base and Tempo.
Exchanges, over-the-counter trading firms and market makers also have direct channels to mint and redeem OUSD at that rate. The service extends direct issuance and redemption access to those firms as well as qualifying BVNK business customers.
Mastercard had previously outlined BVNK’s role in giving businesses and financial firms a way to use OUSD alongside fiat currencies and other stablecoins. The live service adds direct minting and redemption to that role.
Open USD launched Sept. 30, when Stripe designated it the default stablecoin for business customers. Bridge, which is part of Stripe, issues OUSD. The token is available through Stripe and Visa platforms. EconoTimes previously covered OUSD’s rollout across four networks.
