DeMario Jackson, one of the two contestants in the upcoming season of “Bachelor In Paradise,” has finally released a statement in light of the alleged “sexual misconduct” that occurred on set in a Mexico resort.
Citing reports, TVLine said Jackson and fellow contestant Corinne Olympios was involved in a sexual encounter on set. A producer filed a third-party complaint about the incident, and expressed concern in the report if Olympios had given consent during the incident. Shortly after the incident and the complaint, production for the season was cancelled, and all “Bachelor In Paradise” contestants were sent back home to the US.
Warner Bros then issued a statement, which read, “We have become aware of allegations of misconduct on the set of “Bachelor in Paradise” in Mexico. We have suspended production and we are conducting a thorough investigation of these allegations. Once the investigation is complete, we will take appropriate responsive action.”
In a statement to E! News, Jackson appeared to have lawyered up. He said, “It’s unfortunate that my character and family name has been assassinated this past week with false claims and malicious allegations. I will be taking swift and appropriate legal action until my name is cleared and, per the advice of legal counsel, will be seeking all available remedies entitled to me under the laws.”
Olympios has since released her own statement, and insisted that she was a victim. According to her, she has also resorted to consulting with professionals to help her deal with the incident.
