An Oct. 30 snapshot of collateral accepted under Japan’s central-bank rules became available Wednesday, giving a fresh view of assets counterparties can use to secure credit from the Bank of Japan (BOJ).

The Excel workbook captures the Oct. 30 position; the BOJ’s index lists Nov. 4 as the publication date. Its calendar had scheduled publication for about 3 a.m. ET (08:00 UTC) Wednesday.

The BOJ’s statistical notes describe the data as assets accepted under basic collateral terms set with counterparties. The series omits foreign-denominated foreign bonds, as well as loans on deeds to companies denominated in U.S. dollars.

Under the framework, counterparties may obtain BOJ credit up to the value of the collateral they submit. Listed channels include funds-supplying operations against pooled collateral, the complementary lending facility, intraday overdrafts and other means.
