South Korea’s central bank listed a daily USD/KRW base rate of 1,341.00 won per dollar for Nov. 3, while FXStreet separately cited resistance at 1,349–1,353 as a possible threshold for a broader dollar recovery.
The Bank of Korea’s ECOS daily series identifies 1,341.00 as a base rate for Nov. 3. It does not state an observation time, so the figure is not an intraday spot quote and cannot establish where the pair traded when FXStreet published its analysis. The daily rate and the technical band are separate measures.
FXStreet’s Nov. 3 report attributed its chart assessment to Société Générale analysts but did not name them. It described USD/KRW as having bounced after an October low near 1,320 and then moved within a narrow range. The outlet placed the range’s upper edge and the 50-day moving average in the 1,349–1,353 area.
FXStreet said a sustained move above that band would strengthen the case for a wider recovery in USD/KRW. The unnamed Société Générale analysts described such a break as “crucial to confirm a larger recovery,” the outlet reported. Because the pair shows won per dollar, a rising rate means the dollar buys more won and the won weakens against the U.S. currency. FXStreet also marked a recent low near 1,330; it said a move below that level could leave the pair vulnerable to a return to its broader downtrend.
FXStreet timestamped its report at 2:38 p.m. ET (19:38 UTC) Nov. 3. In a separate report, EconoTimes said USD/KRW opened at 1,346.0 Tuesday, 2.2 won above Monday’s 1,343.8 close, before finishing at 1,341.0. That account of Tuesday’s session reported a market close; the ECOS series records a daily base rate.
