Regional officials said emergency crews were sent to affected sites after an overnight drone attack on Belgorod, while The Kyiv Independent reported MegaGRINN as a possible target.
In its first update, Belgorod Oblast’s Operational Headquarters said personnel had been sent to affected locations. It reported preliminary injuries without specifying a count or describing damage.
The Kyiv Independent said accounts from the area placed the main drone activity in Belgorod’s center. The outlet credited monitoring channel Exilenova-Plus with identifying MegaGRINN as a possible target; the region’s initial statement named no target.
MegaGRINN’s website describes a shopping and entertainment venue covering 163,376 square meters, with more than 200 shops. The complex is on Bogdana Khmelnitskogo Avenue in Belgorod, its website says.
The Kyiv Independent reported that no shoppers were inside because the complex was not operating during the attack. The outlet said Ukraine’s northeastern border is 34 kilometers from the city, with Kharkiv about 70 kilometers away.
