Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir posted an AI-generated campaign video portraying Gaza as a ruined ghost town in 2030 ahead of Israel’s Oct. 27 election, Anadolu Agency reported.

The agency said the video shows wrecked schools and a port, then a donkey alongside a Jewish Power message mocking Palestinians who remain in Gaza. Anadolu also reported that Ben-Gvir, who leads the party, has called for Gaza’s occupation, the displacement of its Palestinian residents and Israeli settlements there.

In a separate campaign dispute, the Arab-led Joint List petitioned election officials on Oct. 18 to prevent Ben-Gvir and Jewish Power from using home demolitions and evictions in campaign advertising. The alliance alleged that the use of such measures in the campaign was intended to intimidate Arab voters.

A Channel 12 poll published Oct. 19 assigned 51 seats to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s coalition, 55 to Zionist opposition parties and 14 to Arab parties. The latter two groups total 69 seats, above the 61 required for a majority in the 120-seat Knesset. That count alone does not establish that the parties would form a governing coalition.

Israel’s Central Elections Committee has scheduled the parliamentary vote for Oct. 27.
