“Better Call Saul” season 5 is long overdue but it will be worth the wait as Bob Odenkirk who plays Jimmy McGill revealed that this is the best installment in the series. The drama is the prequel to the Emmy-award winning “Breaking Bad” series and now its story is developing to show Jimmy’s dark side slowly emerging to surface which has been happening for years.
Jimmy’s full transformation to Saul Goodman is expected to happen in “Better Call Saul” season 5. This is what the showrunners want to show all along and they have been building up the story since season 1.
Season 5 - The best one yet
“Better Call Saul” season 5 is close to the series’ finale if the fifth isn’t the last yet. Thus, it is understandable why the progress of the story is going faster now and it’s almost touching the “Breaking Bad” plot now. With how the plot is being unraveled, it is no wonder that even the lead star Odenkirk finds the upcoming installment as the most breathtaking yet.
“It’s the best season we’ve ever done, it’s going to blow your mind,” he told Deadline. “I’m not kidding about either of those things. It’s f***ing awesome. I can’t wait for people to see it. It’s just shattering in every direction, and I love it.”
How is Jimmy accepting his fate?
In “Better Call Saul” season 5, Jimmy is turning from a good guy to a crafty lawyer that is saving a list of his criminal clients. He is becoming Saul Goodman but does he likes it? Odenkirk explained that although Jimmy seems to be liking his transformation and embracing the identity of what he is becoming, he is not happy at all and his brother’s Chuck’s death is mainly the reason.
“Jimmy is broken in such a way because of Chuck’s choice that he’ll end up being Saul pretty much full-time, I think, in his life,” the actor revealed. “And that’s really only a part of who he is, the scammy guy who’s just a dealmaker.”
Then again, Chuck’s death clearly played a role in turning Jimmy to Saul. So much had happened and with his brother’s death, he lost his purpose and ground to stay good thus at his lowest point, Saul easily creeps in and possesses his mind and body.
“Better Call Saul” season 5 has no premiere date yet but an announcement could come soon as filming will wrap up soon.
