“Better Call Saul” season 5 will be around soon, and it will return with big changes as the lead character transitions into someone far from his “gentle” self. As it was already widely published, it will show Jimmu McGill’s full transformation to someone bad and would be called Saul Goodman.
This change is actually how the story was intended to go since season 1. The writers and producers have been aiming to turn around Bob Odenkirk’s character from good to the “bad guy” role that he has in the “Breaking Bad” series.
Odenkirk reveals spoilers and surprising details of the drama
Firstly, the highlight of “Better Call Saul” season 5 is definitely the transformation of Jimmy McGill, and Odenkirk said that it is not a happy moment. The actor pointed out that they have been slowly revealing that he will change throughout the first four seasons, and not the time has come for his character to be fully unveiled.
Unfortunately, he will turn into a crooked lawyer who will take the side of his criminal clients. He will go all out to get them off the hook, and in turn, he gets all the money he wants. Although the story may be disappointing for most fans of McGill, the actor said that “Better Call Saul” season 5 is the best one yet, so fans should watch it.
“It’s the best season we’ve ever done, it’s going to blow your mind, and I’m not kidding about either of those things,” he told Deadline. “It’s awesome and I can’t wait for people to see it.”
Last or penultimate season?
Moreover, in another interview, the lead star of “Better Call Saul” season 5 said that this could be their last installment, although it could still be extended but up to the sixth only. But then he said that it is probably the penultimate chapter because they need to return for a few more episodes before they can fully wrap up McGill’s story.
What’s more, Odenkirk’s words that they are at the end already seems accurate because, from the start, the show’s executive producers stated that they do not want “Better Call Saul” to run longer than the show it was inspired from. It’s a “Breaking Bad” spin-off that ended after six seasons; thus, they could not go over that number.
Meanwhile, “Better Call Saul” season 5 may arrive before the year ends or early 2020. As stated before, filming is complete, and only the post-production remains.
