Binance's Amazon-linked AMZNUSDT perpetual remains open when U.S. stock markets close, a scheduling difference that shapes how the exchange calculates reference prices for the derivative across sessions.
Binance announced a Feb. 9 trading start for the contract at 9:40 a.m. ET (14:40 UTC). Its contract notice lists an eight-hour interval between funding-fee settlements.
Open interest counts contracts that remain active. The aggregate figure alone does not identify traders' positions or whether they favor rising or falling prices.
Binance says AMZNUSDT tracks the price of Amazon.com Inc. common stock and settles in Tether (USDT). Its mark price applies to the futures contract, not an Amazon share.
The contract trades 24/7, including when the U.S. stock market is closed. Binance's pricing guide describes index methods that vary across regular trading, premarket, after-hours and overnight sessions because the stock market operates on a shorter schedule.
