Bindi Irwin and Chandler Powell almost did not make it to the altar as the former reportedly threatened to cancel the wedding last year. This detail was said to have been kept a secret but the story was uncovered recently.
Did Bindi decide to cancel her nuptials?
Woman’s Day reported that Bindi Irwin was under a lot of pressure. She was said to be very stressed about the family drama going around in her home. The issues are supposedly related to her wedding as the members of the family can’t even agree on minor things such as flowers to use.
Also, it was said that there is an issue with Bindi Irwin’s grandfather Bob. He has been estranged from the family since he left the zoo he founded and there is the problem of sending him an invitation to the wedding.
There are many other conflicts and these proved to be too overwhelming for the bride-to-be. Thus, to stop all the drama and escape from the stress it was giving her, she allegedly threatened to call off the wedding.
"Bindi knows there will always be a bit of drama when it comes to a wedding,” the tipster told the Woman’s Day. “But she expected it to be minor arguments over seating plans or flowers, not drawn-out family battles."
The source further claimed that it was not just Bindi but her finance Chandler Powell also started to have serious doubts about pushing through with the ceremony. They have considered canceling.
Debunking the claims on Bindi’s wedding cancellation
Gossip Cop stated that this story is not true at all. The truth is - Bindi Irwin and Chandler Powell only delayed the wedding a bit because of the coronavirus pandemic.
They were not able to hold a big wedding though but chosen to go for a more intimate one, with just the close family members and friends, since it is impossible to invite many people in this situation. This means that they can’t invite as many as they want, including grandpa Bob, thus only those who live close to them were able to attend. The two are married now and set to welcome their first baby in a few months.
