Bitcoin (BTC) showed opposing moves in two dollar-margined futures measures on Oct. 30: the share of accounts positioned long rose, while the long-side share of position size declined, Coinglass data showed.

Bitcoin’s account share increased 2.92 percentage points to 72%, while its position share fell 2.09 percentage points to 63%. The figures use different bases: one reflects the proportion of accounts on the long side, and the other measures long positions as a share of position size. That means the account reading can rise while the position reading falls.

Solana had the largest retreat in long-position share among five assets, dropping 5.01 percentage points to 67%. Ether (ETH) fell 3.16 percentage points to 62%. XRP rose 1.34 percentage points to 71%, while Dogecoin (DOGE) gained 0.23 percentage points to 78%.

The dollar-margined account share also declined for Ether, XRP, Solana and Dogecoin. Ether fell 4.43 percentage points to 73%, XRP lost 3.66 percentage points to 76%, Solana dropped 3.09 percentage points to 77%, and Dogecoin declined 4.22 percentage points to 76%.

Coin-margined long-account shares rose for all five assets. Bitcoin gained 1.02 percentage points to 80%; Ether rose 1.17 percentage points to 82%; XRP added 1.22 percentage points to 88%; Solana increased 0.68 percentage points to 88%; and Dogecoin advanced 1.07 percentage points to 92%.

The two Bitcoin measures also diverged in an earlier Oct. 18 futures snapshot, when the account share fell as the position-share measure rose.
