Bitcoin (BTC) was at $79,776 as of 7:53 a.m. ET (11:53 UTC) Tuesday, with exchange reserves lower and trading volume higher before the Federal Reserve's next policy announcement, scheduled for Wednesday.
CoinGecko and exchange spot data showed the price down 0.59% over 24 hours. CryptoQuant's Oct. 27 indicators recorded $25.77 billion in trading volume, a 36.26% increase, alongside net outflows of 8,166 BTC. CryptoQuant recorded 2,490,619 BTC in reserves, down 0.33%.
Net-flow data showed withdrawals exceeding deposits, but the figures do not explain why holders moved the coins. The Fear and Greed Index stood at 48, in neutral territory, compared with 50 a day earlier and 55 a week earlier.
The funding rate was 0.0081%, equivalent to 8.9% annualized. That positive rate meant traders holding long positions paid funding to those on the short side.
Bitcoin was down 1.16% at $80,780 in a Saturday snapshot ahead of the same meeting, as EconoTimes previously reported. The Federal Reserve's October calendar lists the meeting for Oct. 27-28, with a press conference scheduled for Oct. 28.
